Friday night's NBC Dateline special will feature the murder of Oak Ridge native Erin Corwin.
A jury last month found Christopher Lee guilty of killing the 19-year-old in 2014. Investigators said the two had a relationship.
The day Corwin disappeared she told her husband, Jon, she was going to Joshua Tree National Park.
When she never returned, Jon said he called her phone but got no answer.
"At least 50 times...I was just so stressed and worried," Jonathan Corwin said.
Search crews found Corwin's body seven weeks later in a 140-foot mine shaft.
Earlier this week, Lee was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
