Patrick Zamarripa is the final Dallas Police officer laid to rest after an attack that killed five members of law enforcement on July 7.

Zamarripa was a father, a husband, a sports fanatic and a war veteran. Family members, fellow officers and even celebrities have shared fond memories of him in the days since his passing.

His funeral began at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wilkerson Greines Activity Center in Fort Worth. Thousands were in attendance.

Chief David Brown, making a speech at the fourth funeral for one of his officers in a span of four days, spoke on the sacrifice of law enforcement.

"Our sacrifice is to show each of us what it means to love," he said. "Without love, none of what we do matters."

Following the service, a line of 300-plus law enforcement vehicles spanned several miles as Zamarripa's body was carried to the DFW National Cemetery.

Hundreds of strangers lined I-20, some with Americans flags, as the procession moved down the interstate.

Fellow law enforcement officers came from as far away as Canada, New York and Portland, Ore. to pay their respects.

"It's just beautiful coming out here from San Francisco to Texas and seeing the outpouring of support and how many community members came here," said Officer Brandon Thompson, from San Francisco's police department.

A rosary service was held for Zamarripa Friday evening in Fort Worth, as well.
