Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon to end in World's Fair Park next year

Due to scheduled renovations at Neyland Stadium, the finish line will be moved for both the 2019 and 2020 race weekends.

The 15th annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon won't be ended at the 50-yard line in Neyland Stadium this year.

This year, the race will end under Knoxville's Sunsphere in World's Fair Park.

“We’re excited about the family-friendly, party-like atmosphere participants can expect at this year’s finish line. We’ll be making more announcements over the coming months as we finalize the new course and fun plans for the weekend’s festivities," said Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race director Jason Altman.

Due to scheduled renovations at Neyland Stadium, the finish line will be moved for both the 2019 and 2020 race weekends.

This year's race is set for March 30-31, 2019.

Registration will open early Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 12:01 a.m. Participants are encouraged to register online at knoxvillemarathon.com.

Current registration fees include $65 for the full marathon; $50 for the half-marathon and two-person relay; $35 for the four-person relay; $25 for the 5K; and $10 for the Covenant Kids Run. These are the lowest prices they've offered and it's to mark the first 15 days of online registration for the race's 15th year.

Price increases on entry fees go into effect at 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 16.
