(WBIR) An East Tennessee man convicted of killing his teenage girlfriend's parents has lost an appeal.
Back in 2007, a jury convicted Andrew Mann on murder charges in the shooting deaths of his then-pregnant girlfriend's parents, Terrance and Alisa McGhee.

He was sentenced to back-to-back life sentences.
Mann filed an appeal that claimed he didn't receive effective legal counsel because his attorney urged him to testify in his own defense.
The court of criminal appeals ruled that no mistakes were made in the handling of Mann's case and upheld his sentence.
Mann's girlfriend, Amanda McGhee, also pleaded guilty to second degree murder. She received 45 years behind bars.
