KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — On Monday afternoon, a roof collapsed at the Concord marina in Knox County. The head harbor master there said the roof collapse damaged some of the most expensive boats that reside at the harbor.
"Our docks got pancaked on top of the boats. It just collapsed," said James Bisch, the head harbor master at Concord Marina. "I've been here 19 years and this is the first type this has ever happened."
The snow that pilled up throughout Monday is to blame for the roof break. In total, up to 25 boats were damaged in the collapse. The marina said it now has to play a waiting game — unable to access the dock until the snow melts.
Another roof collapse was also reported in Loudon County after the storm, at the Fort Loudon Marina. No injuries were reported in that collapse.
