CLINTON, Tennessee — A woman was found dead inside a house fire early Tuesday morning, according to the Clinton Police Department (CPD).
CPD and Clinton Fire responded to a 911 call for a structure fire in the 1100 block of McAdoo Street at 3:40 a.m., CPD said.
After arriving at the scene, first responders found a man with non-life-threatening injuries outside the home, who refused medical treatment, according to police. Then fire crews found a middle-aged woman who was unresponsive inside the home and later pronounced her dead.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Tennessee Medical Examiners Office responded to the scene to assist.
The CPD Criminal Investigations Unit is leading the investigation.
