(WRCB) - Every dog has its day. One in Chattanooga certainly did after police said she helped catch a suspected thief.
A dog's constant barking alerted her owner to a suspicious man in their yard on North Chamberlain Avenue Friday morning, said the Chattanooga Police Department in a Facebook post.
The police called her a "crime-fighting canine." The post also said officers hope she got extra treats for her good work.
An arrest report said the man living at the home found Kouto Coleman standing by several cars outside the garage with a City of Chattanooga trash can that had multiple car batteries in it.
When officers arrived, they also found what they called burglary tools and two women's watches inside the garbage can.
Coleman faces several charges including theft of property.
