KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —  The Knox County Sheriff's Office said juvenile detectives arrested a 12-year-old Carter Middle School student on Monday.

The student made a threat of a pending school shooting that was false, according to KCSO.

The sheriff's office said this arrest is not related to the hoax active shooter call that was directed toward Halls Middle School last week

"Parents/Guardians, please talk to your children about the consequences of making these threats," KCSO said.
