BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — A Carpenters Elementary School student is in the hospital after he was struck by a bus Thursday morning, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
At around 7:15 a.m., deputies responded to Peabody Drive on reports that a 6-year-old boy was struck by a bus while waiting for the bus.
He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, BCSO said.
There have been no charges made at this time. Deputies are continuing their investigation into the incident.
