Carl Cowan Splashpad closes again for water line repairs, expected to reopen Friday

The Knox County Parks and Recreation Department said the splash pad would be closed once again after it closed for several days in July.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People in West Knox County will have to wait if they want to have fun at the Carl Cowan Splashpad. The county's Parks and Recreation Department said on social media that the splash pad was closed once again for water line repairs.

The department said the splash pad was expected to reopen at around 12 p.m. on Friday after the repairs are done. It marks the second time that the splash pad had to close during this summer.

In July, the splash pad was closed leading up to the Fourth of July holiday for maintenance. The department said a contractor had to work on it for around a week.

Splash pads are also available at New Harvest Park and Powell Station Park. The addresses of Knox County's parks with splash pads are available below.

  • Carl Cowan Park: 10058 South Northshore Drive
