15-year-old gets new computer from Make-A-Wish so he can play with friends during treatment

Brodie Bridge has a rare form of pediatric cancer and wanted a new computer so he could hang out with his friends while getting treatment.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An East Tennessee 15-year-old got a brand new computer on Monday, complete with new specs capable of running most video games. The computer was part of Brodie Bridge's Make-A-Wish request.

He has a rare form of pediatric cancer. He said since he can't hang out with his friends while getting treatment, and with a new computer he will be able to play video games with them.

"It's something I can play on and have a distraction from every day, and not a vacation for a couple of days and then that's it," he said.

Bridge is also going to coach WBIR's own John Becker for the Anchor Olympics. Becker is training to compete against other anchors from WBIR, who will also be coached by other children from Make-A-Wish.
