BRISTOL, Va. — Just over state lines in Bristol, Virginia, the state's first casino is set to formally open its permanent facility on Nov. 14.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol will be located at 500 Gate City Highway, according to a release from the casino. It will be around 620,000 square feet and is designed to be a resort destination for people in the area. A release said it will have around 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 game tables and a sportsbook for anyone who wants to bet on sports matchups.

There will also be a 303-room hotel with different dining options, including a Hard Rock Cafe. People will also be able to find steak, seafood, Asian dining and a marketplace.

In July 2022, a full-service casino opened in the former Bristol Mall and began welcoming guests as the "Bristol Casino — Future Home of Hard Rock" while work on the permanent facility continued. A release said it welcomed more than 3 million guests and paid more than $66 million in gaming taxes to Virginia.

It also said it has paid out more than $260 million in jackpots over the more than 2 years it welcomed guests.

According to social media, the permanent facility will include at least a new cashier space and a new bar. A grand opening ceremony will also bring out Blake Shelton to perform on Nov. 14.
