BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said two people were injured after a crash on "The Dragon" in Blount County on April 29.
The Dragon is a section of U.S. 129 that stretches through Blount County. The THP said James Reiner, 68, was driving west on a downhill curve to the right. It said the other motorcyclist was heading east on the same road, going uphill.
According to a preliminary report, Reiner failed to keep the lane of travel and crossed over the double-yellow lines near the curve's apex. It said he hit the other motorcyclist head-on. Both Reiner and the other motorcyclist were injured, according to the report.
Reiner is facing charges of reckless driving, due care violations and failing to maintain lanes.
