Bandit Lites founder Strickland's home, office raided; he cites 'estranged wife'

Knoxville police and the FBI searched the home and office Thursday of Bandit Lites Chairman Michael Strickland.

(WBIR) WEST KNOX COUNTY – Knoxville police and the FBI searched the home and office Thursday of Bandit Lites Chairman Michael Strickland.

Agents searched 3572 Captains Way off of Toole's Bend Road.

The FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force and KPD's Organized Crime Unit entered the home Thursday morning.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon on Strickland's behalf, Nate Evans, attorney for Strickland, said: "According to the search warrant, it appears that the search was a result of a complaint made by Mr. Strickland's estranged wife."

The statement also included comment from Strickland: "I want to make this perfectly clear. This search has absolutely nothing to do with Bandit Lites or any of the operations of this company."

In a release, the FBI said because the investigation is ongoing, no further information can be released at this time.

KPD had indicated in a release that two locations were searched but did not elaborate on the second location.

According to the release from Strickland, "Due to the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time."
