A bald eagle that suffered injuries from a geese attack returned to its home on Wednesday.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and American Eagle Foundation released the eagle back into the area it was found.
In early April, the eagle fell into the Holston River after being attacked by geese protecting their nest. The eagle, now known as Chief, was spotted behind a Kingsport restaurant called Riverfront Seafood Company.
Members of the restaurant and TWRA saved the eagle. Chief was taken to the UT Veterinary Hospital here in Knoxville for recovery. Chief's biggest problem was lack of energy which caused the eagle to be unable to fly.
Chief spent the rest of its recovery in Pigeon Forge with the foundation.
The eagle was banded incase of future problems, and was released in the same area to give Chief a better chance of finding its nest.
