Bald eagle rescued in Greene Co. euthanized after CT scan shows spinal damage

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the bald eagle was rescued along Highway 11E in the West Greene area of Greene County.

Doctors had to euthanize a bald eagle Tuesday afternoon after TWRA officers rescued it after it was struck by a car Sunday morning in Greene County.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the bald eagle was rescued along Highway 11E in the West Greene area of Greene County.

The eagle was not killed but had a leg injury at the time it was rescued. After the eagle was taken to the UT College of Veterinary Medicine, a CT scan detected a severe spinal fracture. Due to her size, they believe the eagle was a female.
