A Knoxville eatery is planning a big move coming next year.
Asia Cafe says it will be building a new restaurant on North Callahan Drive. The owners say the proposed 12,000 square foot building will include hibachi, sushi, karaoke, a dance floor and other amenities.
They plan to close down their current Asia Cafe location on North Central Avenue and complete the building of the new restaurant by July of next year.
"I went back home to Malaysia and started restaurants using the U.S. concept, and they were very successful," said Phillip Lim. "So I came back to the United States and started Asia Cafe and planning to franchise it down the road if everything goes successful."
The owners say they also plan to add a supervised play room for kids to give parents a chance to enjoy a night out with dinner and dancing.
