KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — The Knox County Commission will host their Junior Commissioner youth civics leadership program for the third year in a row.

The annual program returns in 2025 and is available to Knox County high school juniors and seniors (public, private & homeschools). Sessions will focus on teaching students about community engagement, public service and the functions of their local government.

According to the commission's website, the program aims to create an educational experience where a student can 'become a more engaged and informed citizen' and 'further develop healthy citizenry habits.'

Selected members of the 2025 Junior Commissioner class will be announced on Jan. 6 with sessions planned to take place at the City Council Building in downtown Knoxville.

All applications must be submitted by Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.
