KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE: (7/9): Officials have released more information about who started the fire on Massachusetts Avenue early Monday morning.
According to court records, an investigation found the Shelly Teague's 100 yards away from the scene. Teague then approached Knoxville Police officers and told them she was inside the home when she lit a pile of trash in the bedroom.
She also told officers she knew someone was inside the house when she set it. That person was Charles Robert Williams, according to the report.
Williams told authorities he was in the living room and smelled smoke. At that time, he realized the house was on fire and escaped out of the living room window, records state.
Teague told officials after she set the fire, she walked down the street, threw her lighter into an "over-grown yard" and stood by until officers arrived, according to records.
She was later taken into custody.

The Knoxville Fire Department said one woman was arrested for aggravated arson after an overnight house fire.
Firefighters first received a call about the fire at 1544 Massachusetts Avenue around 2:58 a.m., according to KFD.
Crews knocked down the fire within 10 minutes of their arrival. The Knoxville Police Department also responded and found another small fire in the yard. It was extinguished quickly, KFD said.
The home suffered significant damage and was destroyed. KFD said the house was uninhabitable for a considerable time before the fire and didn't have electricity. Three people, two females and one male, lived in the house illegally.
