Dog who fatally bit 6-week-old euthanized by Young-Williams Animal Center

The Mansoor family said their dog bit their newborn baby unprovoked and that the dog had never previously shown aggression.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The dog who fatally bit a 6-week-old child was euthanized humanely, according to the Young-Williams Animal Center.

The family husky attacked Ezra Mansoor unprovoked in his crib on May 24. Mansoor's mother said the dog showed no signs of aggression in the past and other children had stayed over previously without issue.

YWAC had custody of the dog while it was under a 10-day bite quarantine after the attack.

"The dog was recommended for destruction by the Knox County Sheriff's Office. Permission was obtained from the family to surrender the dog, and the dog was humanely euthanized once the quarantine period had ended," YWAC said.

Family members are raising money to help support the Mansoor family. Anyone who wants to donate money can donate through a GoFundMe fundraiser.
