SoKno Pride returning to South Knoxville on June 29 for 4th Pride Month celebration

People will be invited to Sevier Avenue on Saturday for an all-day celebration featuring drag performances, music, a vendor market and more.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An annual Pride Month celebration is returning to South Knoxville on June 29 for a long schedule slate of fun and festivities.

SoKno Pride will be held along a portion of Sevier Avenue, ending near Island Home Avenue. The event starts at 8 a.m. with the SoKno Pride 5K Fun Run, beginning and ending near Hi-Wire Brewing. It will be followed by Pride Yoga before SoKno Pride officially starts at 12 p.m. Throughout the event, there will be a vendor market and kid's zone lasting until 6 p.m.

The Appalachian Equality Chorus is performing during an opening ceremony at Alliance Brewing at 12 p.m. Then, drag performances and live music will kick off at various locations near Sevier Avenue. The closing ceremony will also start at 5:30 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. at Alliance Brewing.

Organizers also said they moved events and vendors away from Honeybee Coffee to other locations during SoKno Pride. On social media, they said it was "in solidarity with our community."

SoKno Pride said it will have ASL interpreters at its main stage near Alliance Brewing, helping make the event more inclusive.

Parking will be available under James White Parkway near Printshop Brewing Company and Mighty Mud. It will also be available at the Dwight Kessel Garage, Regal's parking deck and Suttree Landing Park.

There will also be a shuttle sponsored by Knox Brew Hub stopping at the event and at a downtown pick-up location, organizers said on social media.
