Help fill East Tennessee pet bowls by donating to the 10th annual Super Kibble Bowl

The event helps both Knox PAWS and local animal shelters.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville organization is asking people for help with pet food donations during its 10th annual Super Kibble Bowl event.

Each year before Super Bowl Sunday, Knoxville Pays it Forward hosts the Super Kibble Bowl to support the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee Office on Aging's Knox PAWS/Feed-A-Pet program. The event helps feed animals living with seniors in need of companionship and also helps local nonprofit shelters CAC partners with for the Knox PAWS program.

Knoxville Pays It Forward is encouraging people to donate items through Chewy or Amazon. You can donate by purchasing items on the Knox PAWS Chewy wishlist by clicking here, or by buying items on the organization's Amazon wishlist at this link.

It also will be accepting pet food donations in-person at El Chico at 116 Cedar Lane in Knoxville, Vintage, Etc. at 3006 Tazewell Pike, Admiral Title/Adams Law Firm at 8517 Kingston Pike, or Knox CAC at 2247 Western Avenue.

"We're looking for small bags of pet food. Remember these are seniors and can't carry big bags," Kim Cantrell with Knoxville Pays It Forward said.

The Knox PAWS program helps seniors find pet companions by partnering with local animal shelters. The Feed-A-Pet program helps seniors in need feed their pets and provides other basic needs.

Since the group started the Kibble Bowl nine years ago, they've collected more than 4,000 pounds of pet food. For the tenth year, they hope to reach 5,000 pounds.
