KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Wednesday marked a special day for family members and friends of the 134th Air Refueling Wing as members of the Tennessee Air National Guard Unit return home.

The unit's mission is to provide the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force as well as supporting refueling operations around the world, according to the Tennessee Department of Military.

The son of one soldier said it had been three months since he had seen his dad, with his wife just as happy to see him home.

"It's really special, he completes our family, and just knowing he is there with the kids and with me all the time now is really special," his wife said.

She also said she was proud of him and that she has been with him for 12 out of the 14 years he has been serving.
