COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on I-40 in Cocke County around 8:17 a.m. on Tuesday when it traveled off the left side of the road.
The THP said it hit a cable barrier at Mile Marker 435, went down an embankment and overturned, resulting in the death of the driver.
The vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old man, was towing a flatbed trailer and transporting lumber, THP said. The crash report also said that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
