UNION COUNTY, Tenn. — One motorcyclist is dead after a wreck on Maynardville highway around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
According to a crash report from THP, a Ford Edge was stopped in its travel lane on State Highway 33 in the northbound lane and waiting to turn left. A Harley Davidson driven by Steven Miracle, 64, then hit the back left side of the Ford when trying to swerve out of the way, according to the report.
The motorcycle then slid on its side and hit a guard rail on the right side of the road, the report said. THP said the Ford then came to an uncontrolled stop on the southbound side of State Highway 33.
The driver and passenger of the Ford were both uninjured, according to the report.
