SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — And then there were none.
The last Kmart store in the East Tennessee will close in March, Sears Holdings Corp. announced Friday.
The location is among another 80 that will close across the country as the retailer fights to stay alive after it filed for bankruptcy in October.
The Kmart set to close is located at 217 Forks of the River Parkway. The Kingsport Kmart on E. Stone Drive will also close.
Liquidation sales are expected to begin in two weeks, the company said.
Only one location will remain open in the state, the one in Lebanon.
Since filing for bankruptcy, the company has said it will close more than 260 of its nearly 700 stores.
