Knox County Commissioners voted to approve a plan to build a new video courtroom facility at the Knox County Jail.
The costs of the plan would not exceed $1.5 million dollars.
Deputies would no longer be needed to transport inmates twelve miles from the jail to the the city-county building for court.
Commissioners also approved a new contract for phone and video visitation services at the Knox County Jail.
