KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — Kentucky State Police is investigating a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Knox County early Saturday.
KSP said Knox County deputies responded to a a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Owens Hollow Road in Gray, Ky. around 1 a.m. While looking for the vehicle, deputies said a man fired multiple shots from a nearby home.
According to KSP, deputies then approached the home. That's when deputies said 49-year-old Thomas Owens came out of the home armed with a rifle.
KSP said Owens failed to follow the orders of the deputies, and pointed the rifle at the troopers. KSP said that is when Owens was shot and killed.
An investigation is being conducted by the KSP Critical Incident Response Team.
