KCSO: Man, 27, faces charges in fatal crash on Millertown Pike

The Knox County Sheriff's Office said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

UPDATE 1 PM Monday: A 27-year-old man has charges pending against him in connection with Saturday's night fatal crash on Millertown Pike.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office identified the driver now charged as Justin K. Ownby, 27, of Knoxville.

KCSO also is now naming the young person killed in the crash. The victim was 15-year-old Jordan D. Moyers.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Knox County Sheriff's Office said charges are pending against the driver responsible for a wreck that killed one person and injured at least three others on Millertown Pike on Saturday night.

KCSO said it happened around 9:00 p.m.in the 6600 block of Millertown Pike. Deputies later said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Deputies found two pickup trucks. They said one of them was engulfed in flames and the other truck had four passengers. One of the passengers was dead when they got there.

The other passengers and the drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to KCSO. Their conditions were unknown Sunday afternoon.

KCSO has not identified the driver facing charges or the passenger who died.
