JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. — Tennessee Hills Distillery is asking the community for extra aloe vera to use to make more bottles of hand sanitizer from leftover waste alcohol.
Owner Stephen Callahan says he is contacting raw material suppliers in an effort to get more aloe in order to make more sanitizer.
"Right now our biggest issue is getting raw ingredients, you know aloe vera, glycerins and that kind of thing," Callahan says. "You know we could be just putting waste alcohol in bottles, but you know that will dry out people's hand and that's not nice right?"
The owner said all of the profits from the hand sanitizer bottles will be donated to local charities.
