KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People in Knoxville had a chance to get some basic medical care for free on Tuesday, through Remote Area Medical.
The nonprofit organized a telehealth clinic where people could speak with volunteer practitioners about health concerns. The clinic was hosted at the Steps House located at 712 Boggs Avenue. People could get services without an ID, but because it was a telehealth clinic, no dental or vision services were available.
Another telehealth clinic will be on March 10 at Care Cuts from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. located at 516 Williams Street.
A full clinic is planned to start on March 16 in Cookeville at Cookeville High School. The patient parking lot will open by 11:59 p.m. the night before, and clinic doors will open at 6 a.m. There, patients will be able to get free dental, vision and medical services on a first-come, first-served basis.
