Knox Co. reported an additional death related to COVID-19 on Thursday, a 70-year-old woman.
Overall, Knox County has had 56 deaths related to the pandemic. 25 of those have been in people aged 75 or older. Ten people who have died were in the 65-75 age range. Sixteen have been 45-64 and 5 were between 18-44.

Knox County reported two new deaths on Tuesday, Aug. 25, a 91-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man.
On Saturday, Aug. 22, the Knox County Health Department reported the death of a 51-year-old man.
A 64-year-old man's death was reported on Aug. 14.

While Knox Co. did report a new death related to COVID-19 in Knox Co. on Wednesday, a data error actually resulted in a drop in total deaths.
According to the Knox Co. Health Dept., two of the deaths previously recorded in Knox Co. were duplicates. The county receives death information from three sources: local hospitals, the regional forensics center, and the state medical examiner's office.
In one case, the same name was submitted by two different sources and was counted twice. In the other, the two sources reported slightly different names for the same person so the duplicate wasn't caught initially.
The data has now been adjusted to reflect there have been 45 total deaths in Knox Co. as of today.
Twenty of those who have died in Knox County were over the age of 75. There have been six deaths of people between 65-74, 14 deaths of people between 45-64 and five between 18-44.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Knox County has increased to 46.
The Knox Co. Health Dept. only releases the sex, ages and ethnicity of those who have died. They do not release any further information like preexisting conditions.
Twenty of those who have died in Knox County were over the age of 75. There have been five deaths of people between 65-74, 16 deaths of people between 45-64 and four between 18-44.
Almost twice as many men have died than women in Knox County, with 32 men and 14 women listed on the KCHD website.
Twenty-six of those who have died were listed as White. Twelve were Black and four were Hispanic. The others' ethnicity was not known.

Two more Knox Co. residents have died after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
The latest victims are a 64-year-old man and a 67-year-old man.
Seventeen of those who have died in Knox County were over the age of 75. There have been four deaths of people between 65-74, nine deaths of people between 45-64 and three between 18-44.

On Thursday, Knox County reported four more deaths, the most COVID-19 deaths in a single day in the county since the pandemic began. That brings the total to 31.
KCHD said the latest victims were a 77-year-old man, a 79-year-old man, a. 85-year-old man, and an 82-year-old woman.
Seventeen of those who have died in Knox County were over the age of 75. There have been three deaths of people between 65-74, eight deaths of people between 45-64 and three between 18-44.

Four more people died after being diagnosed with COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total in Knox County to 26.
The KCHD said Monday that the victims were a 68-year-old woman, a 74-year-old man, an 80-year-old man and a 43-year-old man.
Twelve of those who have died in Knox County were over the age of 75 and three of them were between the ages of 65-74. There have been eight deaths of people between 45-64 and three between 18-44.

An 87-year-old man is the latest victim in Knox County to die after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Twice as many men have died in Knox County, with 15 men and seven woman, according to the Knox County Health Dept.
Nine of the victims were Black and nine were White. Four of them were listed as an unknown race.

Two additional deaths have reported related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Knox County. An 81-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man have died.

Two more people have died of complications related to COVID-19 in Knox County.
The Knox County Health Dept. said Wednesday they were a 94-year-old man and a 56-year-old man.
In Knoxville, there have been eight coronavirus-related deaths for people over 75 years old, and five deaths in the 45 - 65 years old age range. Lastly, the health department reported two other deaths in the 18 - 44 years old age range.

The Knox County Health Dept. said Monday that three more people have died of complications from COVID-19.
The victims were a 45-year-old man, a 54-year-old woman, and an 88-year-old woman.
The health department reported seven coronavirus-related deaths for people over 75 years old, and four deaths in the 45 - 65 years old age range. Lastly, the health department reported two other deaths in the 18 - 44 years old age range.
UPDATE July 8, 2020: The Knox County Health Department reported 10 deaths as of July 8. The majority of those deaths were in a high-risk group, however two deaths were from a younger population.
The health department reported six coronavirus-related deaths for people over 75 years old, and 2 deaths in the 45 - 65 years old age range. Lastly, the health department reported 2 other deaths in the 18 - 44 years old age range.
Health officials also said three of those deaths were women and seven were men; four of those people were Black, three were White and the health department said they did not know the race of three others.
The Knox Co. Health Dept. does not release any further details about COVID-19 patients.

Previous story
The five people in Knox County who have died from COVID-19 related complications were older or at risk from underlying medical conditions, according to the health department.
The county reported its fifth death on April 28.
The previously reported victims were a 93-year-old woman, an 86-year-old woman, a man who was 63 and an 84-year-old man, according to Dr. Martha Buchanan, Director of the Knox Co. Health Department.
Those victims don't represent a "cluster" or pattern of infections, she said.
The Knox County Health Dept. said the fifth victim was an 87-year-old man.
Buchanan said the department extends its sympathies to the families of the victims.
Most Knox County businesses can start reopening on Friday, including restaurants, retail stores, salons and gyms.
Knox County's phased reopening plan is different from the rest of the state because the metro counties with their own health departments were able to make a local plan.
