Knoxville police arrested four people Tuesday morning suspected of dealing heroin.
Police investigated several apartments at Cedar Springs Apartment complex in West Knoxville after receiving complaints of drug dealing. During the search of one of the apartments, police found what they say was a large amount of drug paraphernalia including spoons, syringes, baggies, and scales.
While they were at the apartment complex, officers learned Raphael Ferguson, 35, was a suspect in the case. They found a white Mercedes they say Ferguson frequently used. During their search, police say they saw the Mercedes leave the complex.
They pulled over the car but did not find Ferguson. They did find counterfeit money and a fake ID.
A short time later, a man told police someone stole his Toyota Corolla while he was sleeping. He said some apartment guests may have taken the keys and drove away.
Police eventually tracked down the Corolla and pulled it over on Northshore Drive. They arrested four people inside including Ferguson, Brittany Osborn, and two men from Detroit - James Taylor and Brent Miller.
Police say Miller was a fugitive from Michigan wanted for armed robbery and felony weapons possession.
Ferguson also had a criminal background. According to KPD, the Blount County Sheriff's Office previously arrested Ferguson for possessing a large amount of heroin. He was on probation for possession and intent to distribute.
After Tuesday's arrests, all four suspects are facing charges for felony theft. Ferguson faces additional charges for false identification and counterfeit money. Prosecutors also charged Miller with criminal impersonation and being a fugitive from justice.
