KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An initiative hosted by the University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business is sending nine students to the Super Bowl, giving them a chance to get hands-on experience with what it takes to facilitate a big event.

Organizers of the Big Orange Combine 2024 said students will be able to explore sports facilities and businesses in the Las Vegas area, connecting them with professionals and sports executives. Students will also be able to learn about event planning while also expanding their personal networks.

Plus, students will have a chance to enjoy their time and have fun at Super Bowl LVIII.

"Take a trip to the Super Bowl, and meet with different organizations, and network with so many people that can help them to pursue their future career interests," said Joshua Liddell, an assistant director of student-athlete development.

He said everything on the trip is paid for with donations. This year, the initiative raised $11,910 on UT's Volstarter webpage. The Big Orange Combine is hosted in collaboration with the Thronton Athletics Student Life Center, according to the webpage.
