Fulton High School freshman were shown a path to succeed at a special assembly Tuesday.
The school and Project GRAD in Knoxville held its annual "I Will Graduate" assembly aimed to enlighten the newest students about the opportunities available in Knox County Schools and the Project GRAD program while in high school.
Fulton seniors issued a challenge to students to take the next step beyond getting their high school diploma -- this year encouraging them to take part in summer internships through Project GRAD's new Hands on the Future program.
"Project GRAD has helped me to see where I want to be career-wise. I got to do the summer internship through Project GRAD and [the Tennessee College of Applied Technology], and it was just amazing to see the different places I can go in life with different career fields," senior Alexis Thomas said.
The program also encourages students to take the next step after getting their diploma.
