(NASHVILLE) Tennessee is preparing to launch a $1 million advertising campaign to encourage adults to go back to college.
The ads in January will promote the state's Reconnect and Complete initiative. It hopes to reach 110,000 Tennesseans between ages 25 and 64 who were more than halfway to a degree when they left college. The eligibility period covers those who have left since 2007.
Reconnect and Complete is part of Gov. Bill Haslam's Drive to 55 campaign to increase the number of college graduates in Tennessee.
The campaign will include billboards and TV and radio commercials.
College representatives met in September to strategize and collect contact information for former students.
