BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — While families stay cooped up at-home, self-isolating to slow the spread of COVID-19, their children are bound to get bored. With schools and businesses closed, it can seem like there's nothing for kids to do!
So, the Blount County Public Library is offering free access to TumbleBooks, a database where people can explore collections of children's books, read-alongs and audiobooks. It is free to use until Aug. 31.
The libraries in TumbleBooks consist of resources spanning several different kinds of educational topics and literary genres. It also offers quizzes, lesson plans and educational games used by thousands of schools across the country, according to a release from the Blount County Public Library.
Families can use the resources from TumbleBooks to help keep up with children's education while school is closed. Governor Bill Lee ordered schools closed until at least April 24 due to the spread of COVID-19.
Those resources are available on the Blount County Library's website, under the "Learning Tab," the "Teens Tab" and the "Childrens Tab."
