TBI: Former Union Co. clerk's office employee indicted, charged with fraudulent use of credit card

The indictments charged Whitney Goins with one count of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of official misconduct, according to the TBI.

UNION COUNTY, Tennessee — A Maynardville woman is facing charges of one count of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of official misconduct, according to a release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The TBI started its investigation in August on allegations of "misconduct" involving an employee with the clerk's office.

During the investigation, they learned that Whitney Goins, while employed at the clerk's office, fraudulently used a credit card she obtained from an individual, TBI said.

Goins was then terminated from the clerk's office that month.

Goins was arrested and booked Monday into the Union County Jail on a $2,500 bond, according to TBI.
