KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened in the area of Moses Avenue and Wallace Street Wednesday midday.
At around 11 a.m., KPD responded to the area and found a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center to receive treatment for serious injuries, KPD said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, KPD believes that the victim was driving a Chrysler sedan when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle from the occupant or occupants of a second, unidentified vehicle, in an apparent targeted shooting.
