KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested 40-year-old James Perry III, who was wanted for voluntary manslaughter after a shooting in February, the Knoxville Police Department said.
According to KPD, Perry was taken into custody in Detroit, Michigan. after an almost two-month-long search.
Police said Sherwin Harris got into an altercation with a person at Magnolia Cafe early on the night of Feb. 14 and the argument continued at the lounge located at 2223 McCalla Avenue.
During the argument, Harris was shot and died at the scene, according to KPD.
On Monday, Feb. 19, KPD said Perry was charged with voluntary manslaughter and weapon offenses in the shooting.
