A jury returned a guilty verdict Wednesday afternoon in the retrial involving a deadly feud between Union County neighbors.
Kevin Waggoner, a former Knox County Schools security officer, was convicted of second-degree murder for the 2013 death of his neighbor, Michael Woodby.
Waggoner claimed he killed Woodby in self-defense near their homes in Union County.
Last September, a judge declared a mistrial after a jury was hopelessly deadlocked and couldn't come up with a verdict during the course of two days of deliberations.
During the original trial, state investigators testified that Waggoner told them the feud began with a proposed gun sale.
Videos leave little question the relationship between Waggoner and Woodby was tense. Tapes made by Waggoner show Woodby yelling at Waggoner – calling him a pedophile.
Waggoner mailed similar videos to WBIR and other news outlets before the shooting.
But this time, the jury came back with a verdict less than 24 hours after beginning deliberations.
The judge then revoked Waggoner's bond. A sentencing date has yet to be set.
