A Knox County man sentenced to life in prison for killing his ex-wife in front of his two-year-old child has been sentenced on a pending especially aggravated robbery charge.
On Thursday, the court ordered Tyler Ward Enix, 39, to serve an additional 25 years consecutive to the life sentence.
In October 2017, Enix was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 51 years on the murder count. The sentencing for the especially aggravated robbery count was declared a mistrial back in October.
At the time of that sentencing, he had already served 2 years.
Enix murdered Kimberly Enix in her home and then took their 2-year-old child with him to Ohio, where he was caught in October 2015. The medical examiner testified Kimberly had 47 stab wounds which included defensive wounds on her left hand and forearms.
“This case was the result of the dedication and professionalism of law enforcement officers in multiple states,” said DA Charme Allen. “This case shows the value of the AMBER Alert system, and I want to thank the heroes in Ohio who spotted the vehicle and saved this child.”
