KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man who pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide by drag-racing in April, as well as other crimes, was sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison on Friday.
Tra'Shawn Glass entered a blind plea in late April, meaning there was no recommended punishment term between him and Knox County prosecutors. He was also charged with drag racing and with assaults.
He pleaded guilty after authorities said he and Trinity Clark, a co-defendant, raced their Dodge Chargers in January 2023 until they crashed. Michael Williams, 65, was driving with his two young grandchildren when he was hit and killed, authorities said. The crash also sent a car into a nearby building.
Clark has also been charged for her role in the race. She is out on bond awaiting trial.
