TBI continues to search for fugitive accused in Grainger County double homicide, offering a reward for info

TBI also said it has not been able to locate Aaron Ethan White after obtaining warrants and charging him with two counts of criminal homicide.

GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is offering a higher reward as of Wednesday for information as it continues to search for a Morristown man accused in a Grainger County double homicide case that began in May.

TBI said during the investigation, authorities determined Aaron Ethan White, 34, was responsible for killing two men on Rocky Springs Road in late May. Authorities have been unable to locate White after obtaining warrants and charging him with two counts of criminal homicide.

"Attempts to locate White have been unsuccessful," TBI said. "Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND."

TBI added White to its "Most Wanted" list and offered up to $4,500 for information leading to his arrest.

"He should be considered armed and dangerous," TBI said.

White is around 6 feet, 1 inch tall with blue eyes, TBI said. He is believed to have shaved his head and beard.

Authorities have since identified the two victims as 32-year-old Deven McDaniel and 49-year-old Jonathan Atkins.  The cause of death is currently unknown at this time.

Few details were released about the investigation. WBIR arrived at Rocky Springs Road on Sunday evening to find a home with sheriff's tape around it.

The TBI released a statement as well after both people were identified. That statement is available below.

"On Saturday, at the request of 4th Judicial District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn, TBI agents began working alongside the Grainger County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a double homicide that occurred along Rocky Springs Road in Bean Station. The victims have been identified as Jonathan W. Atkins (DOB: 12/14/74) of Bean Station and Deven D. McDaniel (DOB: 6/20/91) of Rogersville. At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing."
