SWEETWATER, Tenn. — The Sweetwater Police Department said a man accused of threatening mass violence at a hospital was taken into custody on Thursday.
The police department said Vernon Knode is accused of calling Sweetwater Hospital and threatening to bomb the facility, as well as threatening to shoot people there. The police department said it investigated the calls and determined his location.
From there, the police department said it worked with the Chattanooga Police Department. Officers from that police department then took him into custody, according to a release from SPD.
