NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) -- Police in North Carolina believe two suspects wanted in connection to a murder could be in Tennessee.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office told FOX 17 News, 20-year-olds Brenda Kaylee Gabrielle Evey and Dakoda Michael Drake fled the state after Evey stabbed a woman who later died at the hospital.
Police said the stabbing took place at the home of Christina Leigh Inman, 20, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Evey and Inman were arguing over drugs and money when Evey allegedly stabbed Inman multiple times. Evey and Drake then drove Inman to the hospital where she died from her wounds.
The pair was last known to be in the Knox County area of Tennessee and could be driving a 2005 blue Subaru Legacy with a temporary NC tag #VE62740.
Police said the duo could be anywhere in the state and had previously said they could be heading towards Colorado or California.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office is working with the U.S. Marshals Office in an effort to find Evey and Drake.
Evey has a murder warrant issued for her arrest and Drake is wanted for accessory after the fact.
