KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — A trooper with Kentucky State Police said Donald Napier, 39, was apprehended and arrested in Floyd County, Kentucky, on Wednesday.
Napier is placed in custody and will be extradited back to Knox County, Kentucky, to face first-degree assault charges.
Troopers started searching for him after he was accused of being involved in a shooting that wounded two people on Dec. 23. According to KSP, troopers received a complaint of a shooting at Lynn Camp School Hollow Road around 11:15 a.m.
When arriving on the scene, police found two individuals who had been shot. Both were flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities identified Napier as the suspect, who now faces assault first-degree charges in the shooting of Jonathan and April Barrett.
Before his arrest, he was seen leaving the scene of the shooting in a white Chevy Malibu, which was found Tuesday afternoon in Richmond.
