CPD: Stone Memorial High School teacher charged after threatening his students

Crossville Police said there were approximately 14 students in the classroom when the incident happened. No injuries were reported.

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — A teacher is facing a reckless endangerment charge after threatening his students Thursday morning, according to the Crossville Police Department.

According to the police, the investigation started after a parent reported the threats to the school resource officer. CPD found that James Green made the threats and was arrested without incident.

CPD said there were approximately 14 students in the classroom when the incident happened. No injuries were reported.

The Cumberland County School Board responded by suspending Green and barring him from entering the school.

Cumberland County Schools released the following statement:

Please know that student safety is and will always remain our top priority as a school system; therefore, please also know we will always work with our trusted partners in law enforcement when such safety issues should arise.
