KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knox County Criminal Court jury convicted a 23-year-old man Wednesday of driving drunk and killing a motorcyclist in 2022 on Kingston Pike.

Evidence showed Christian Cade Elwood was driving 91 mph when he hit and killed a 33-year-old man on a motorcycle on Kingston Pike near Huxley Road the night of July 23, 2022.

Testing by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation showed Elwood's blood alcohol level was 0.091, which exceeds the legal limit, court testimony Tuesday showed. Elwood was driving a Honda at the time, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

Jurors convicted Elwood of vehicular homicide by intoxication, reckless endangerment, DUI and speeding.

He faces sentencing Dec. 6. Judge Scott Green will impose punishment.
