A Blount County man is accused of holding a Knoxville woman against her will for two days and repeatedly raping her.

Sean Shannon Finnegan, 47, of Louisville, is charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape.

The 30-year-old woman told Knoxville Police that Finnegan kidnapped her on Monday and took her to his home where he raped and assaulted her.

She said she got away on Wednesday when he took her back to Knoxville because he believed she needed to pick up her daughter. She said she escaped from his vehicle and called police.

KPD contacted the Blount County Sheriff's Office, who arrested Finnegan near his home. Officers searched the house and found evidence that corroborated the woman's story.

The victim was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment and was released.

Finnegan is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility on bonds totaling $150,000.
